Newcastle injury news – HUGE Harvey Barnes injury boost

Harvey Barnes unfortunately suffered an injury towards the start of the season and his first season in Newcastle black and white. It came as a big blow for Eddie Howe, especially as news emerged that he would be missing for a substantial period of time after starting the season well.

However, Harvey Barnes is doing well in his recovery, if recent news is to be believed. According to an update from Chronicle Live, Newcastle have been given a “major boost” with Harvey Barnes, as he is now back training on grass.

This is a significant step in the winger’s recovery, as clubs only allow players to return to training on grass when they are sure it won’t detriment their injury any further. I’m no doctor and I’m by no means saying that Barnes will be back any time soon, but this is great news to hear.

Progress is progress. No matter how big or small. I’m so happy to see that he’s back doing what he loves.

Newcastle injury news – Callum Wilson selected for England

Callum Wilson is one of the Newcastle players in the England squad for the November international break.

Gareth Southgate has selected the Newcastle forward, despite him being an injury doubt for the upcoming game against Bournemouth. Wilson was subbed off in the midweek game against Dortmund in the Champions League, with Eddie Howe confirming it was an issue with his hamstring.

While we’re still yet to understand the full extent of the Callum Wilson injury, at least we know from his involvement in the England squad that it isn’t a long-term or even mid-term injury.
