Newcastle transfer news – Lloyd Kelly isn’t for sale

To try and solve their injury crisis, one player who Newcastle have been targeting is Bournemouth’s English defender Lloyd Kelly. The 25-year-old has started the season well and is therefore receiving interest from multiple Premier League teams including Newcastle.

However, according to a report by TEAMtalk, Bournemouth have insisted that they will not consider any approaches made to sign Kelly since he isn’t for sale. Therefore, the Magpies must consider other options.

Newcastle transfer news – Eddie Howe the biggest bidder for Kalvin Phillips

Newcastle must consider replacing Sandro Tonali in the January transfer window, even if it’s only a short-term replacement. The Italian midfielder is banned for a substantial amount of time after it was found he committed betting offences while at his former club AC Milan.

Obviously, this is through no fault of Newcastle but unfortunately, Eddie Howe finds himself in a position of needing to replace his Italian star Sandro Tonali. According to a report by Sport Witness, Newcastle are currently the “highest bidder” with Kalvin Philipps. Although, Juventus are still eager to sign the Manchester City midfielder.

At the moment, Phillips is surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola. Even given their midfield injury crisis, Phillips hardly gets a run out since he is bottom of the pecking order. Therefore, a move to St James Park to hopefully play in the Champions League come January could be of interest to the England international.
