CM: Bruno Guimaraes. He won’t play in the Premier League at the weekend due to his ban. But this doesn’t apply to the Champions League. Therefore, this is all the more reason for Eddie Howe to play the in-form Brazilian, to enable fairer squad rotation.

CM: Joe Willock. Came on as a sub in the last Champions League meeting between these two and indeed in the weekend’s Premier League match against Arsenal. I think he could be granted his first start in the Champions League this season, he’s certainly earned it.

CM: Sean Longstaff. Longstaff has been a staple in the Champions League and in an important match like this where we must win, Eddie Howe won’t change that. His energy, composure and discipline in the midfield will complete the perfect midfield trio. In my opinion, anyway, this could win the midfield battle.
