LW: Anthony Gordon (7/10) – One thing that makes Anthony Gordon exciting is his speed. He looked lively in this game and should have scored in the first half. In the second half, he had many chances and he finally got one away to give Newcastle the much-needed lead. All in all, it was a very impressive outing for the 22-year-old.

ST: Callum Wilson (4/10) – There is no doubt that Wilson is in the form of his life. He got a great chance in the first half to score but he missed. Although that wouldn’t have counted as there was an offside in the buildup. In the second half, he didn’t have much to do.

  • SUB: Joe Willock (5/10) – Since coming on for Wilson, Newcastle’s attack looked more threatening as they finally broke the deadlock through Anthony Gordon. Willock played a crucial role in that goal.

RW: Miguel Almiron (4/10) – The right winger of Newcastle was struggling against Tomiyasu. He struggled to get into positions and his crossing was not good. In the second half, Eddie Howe decided to take him off which proved to be the right move as Newcastle found the opening goal just a minute later.

  • SUB: Jacod Murphy (4/10) – Came on with Joe Willock and changed Newcastle’s frontline. He also had an important role to play in Newcastle’s goal. However, he dislocated his shoulder in the 79th minute. So, he had to come off. Thus, it is an average score in the Newcastle player ratings vs Arsenal for him.
  • SUB: Matt Ritchie (4/10) – After coming on for Joe Willock. Matt Ritchie did put a shift in. He didn’t have the time to show his class. However, he helped the defensive unit well when Arsenal attacked towards the end of the game.
