With the important fixture round the corner, will Lewis Hall start for Newcastle vs Chelsea in the Carabao Cup quarter final?
That’s the question on everybody’s minds at the moment. With Lewis Hall scoring a goal and impressing at Old Trafford in midweek, Newcastle fans would ideally like to see the youngster play at Stamford Bridge in the quarter final, particularly with squad rotation factored in.
However, there’s complications. With Chelsea being Lewis Hall’s parent club, there’s confusion as to whether or not he’s eligible to start in this match. Yesterday, we revealed that Hall is eligible to play on the one condition that Chelsea grant him permission to play in this match – As his parent club, unfortunately, the authority rests with our opponents.
No expectation for Lewis Hall to play for Newcastle vs Chelsea
According to an update by Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope, Newcastle do not expect Lewis Hall to be able to play against Chelsea. Hilariously, though, Hope has suggested that should Chelsea avoid relegation, he could always play at Stamford Bridge next season.
Personally, I struggle to see why Chelsea are opposed to their youngster playing. After all, experience playing against a big team on an occasion such as a quarter final would be amazing for his development, right?
Who am I kidding – We all know that Chelsea don’t actually care about the development of their young players. After all, Lewis Hall is just another cash cow for them. I hope we sign him permanently and show him what a real football club is like.
