Newcastle vs Arsenal: Predicted lineup as Eddie Howe seeks tough win

CM: Sean Longstaff. Played the entire match in midweek but he’ll probably be ready to run a marathon the morning after. Longstaff has been one of out most important players this season, so I fully expect him to start against Arsenal.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes. Bruno came off the bench in midweek but the fact that he didn’t start suggests Eddie Howe has him in mind for this game. It was a wise choice to rest his best players as given the injury crisis and the Sandro Tonali situation, Bruno’s involvement in the midfield is all the more important.

CM: Joelinton. Returning to his more natural position, Joelinton should start in this match ahead of Joe Willock. Although the former Arsenal man got a goal in midweek, he looked rusty throughout, so throwing him in the deep end in an important fixture like this isn’t wise. Joelinton is the better choice.
