A £105m midfielder has fired a warning to Eddie Howe’s men ahead of this Saturday’s Premier League fixture, Newcastle vs Arsenal.

Newcastle may be in inconsistent form at the moment, but overall, they have started the season well. Only six points behind fourth place in the Premier League, they’re on the right track to achieve their objectives come the end of the season.

A team which stands in the way this weekend is Arsenal. The Gunners are aiming for the title this season, but they see fellow Champions League side Newcastle as a tough fixture. With the two sides facing different fates in the Carabao Cup in midweek, it’s the Magpies who hold the advantage going into this match as the home team.

Speaking ahead of the big Premier League tie, a certain Arsenal man has fired a warning to Eddie Howe’s men. Reflecting on his visit back to West Ham (which didn’t end the way he would’ve liked), £105m midfielder Declan Rice has said that Arsenal must bounce back at the weekend, when they travel to St James Park. Quoted by Football London, Declan Rice said that it’s “time to put it right on Saturday”.

Newcastle will have different plans. As mentioned, they are only six points away from the top four and seven points away from Arsenal, who sit second in the table – A win for Eddie Howe’s side would see that gap narrowed to just four points.

At the moment, it’s no secret that Howe is plagued with injury concerns. He has done a good job in recent matches to rest some players who may be needed for the upcoming schedule of difficult fixtures.

Last time out, Arsenal came to St James Park and won 2-0, despite early pressure from us. We need to make sure that we capitalise on any early chances to put the game to bed as soon as possible. Any sniff of goal, and Arsenal will take it.
