Newcastle merged victorious over Man United in the EFL Cup. Here are the Newcastle player ratings from the impressive 30 win.

Newcastle player ratings vs Man United

GK: Martin Dubravka – 7.5/10. He’ll be happy to come away from this one with a clean sheet. It was a rare start for the backup goalkeeper, with Nick Pope not in the squad. He had a fair amount to do, particularly towards the start of the second half where United dominated. Still, he was composed and did everything he needed to.

RB: Tino Livramento – 7.5/10. Another great performance from the Eddie Howe signing. An assured performance at the back and he even picked up an assist for the opening goal. Well done Tino!

CB: Emil Krafth – 7/10. It was good to see Krafth pick up a start in the EFL Cup after his lengthy injury spell. Being described by Eddie Howe before the match as looking “fresh”, the defender came back well with a solid defensive display.

  • SUB: Miguel Almiron – 7.5/10. A great finish to a great movement from Tino. He didn’t expect to play as much as he did, but Miggy was prepared for the occasion.

CB: Paul Dummett – 7/10. Assured performance from the Welshman, who won a lot of duels and was good in the air to keep the United attack at bay.

LB: Matt Targett – N/A. Forced off in the first five minutes through injury. Another injury concern for Eddie Howe.
