Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man United – EFL Cup revenge for Howe
By Kian Long
Newcastle United come up against Man United in the EFL Cup, the two finalists from last year. That said, here’s the Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man United.
Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man United
GK: Nick Pope. There are four goalkeepers looking to make an appearance for Newcastle, however, Eddie Howe will opt for his strongest choice. Pope has been in great form and given that this is Newcastle’s best chance of silverware this season, the England international will start against Man United, something he couldn’t do in the final last season.
RB: Tino Livramento. In the last EFL Cup match against Man City, new signing Livramento played and was one of the best players on the pitch. With this in mind against weaker opposition, Eddie Howe will use this as valuable rest time for Kieran Trippier.
CB: Jamaal Lascelles. The captain has been given a consistent run out in the first-team, largely helped by the Sven Botman injury. Lascelles is in great form, so he will be trusted against this United side.
CB: Paul Dummett. With Schar being one of the most important players, I don’t think Howe will want to risk him. Therefore, it’s a rare chance for Dummett to prove himself.
LB: Dan Burn. The big man at the back. While there’s a case for Targett to start ahead of the usual Burn, Burn would level out the defence more. Although, I’d be happy either way.
