Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer praises Kieran Trippier for his recent performances for the Magpies. He thinks Trippier has been a brilliant signing.

Kieran Trippier is probably in the form of his life. He is putting in performances after performances for the Magpies making him a true talisman of this incredible team. Trippier joined Newcastle United from Atletico Madrid in January 2022 for a fee of £12m. With the amount Newcastle paid for the right-back, they are getting a huge return on their investment for sure. Eddie Howe’s team decimated PSG in the Champions League and Kieran Trippier played a huge role in nullifying the PSG main man Kylian Mbappe. There is no doubt that the PSG winger is among the best players in the world. But, when he was up against the Trippier, he was ineffective.

That is why Trippier is garnering praise from a lot of sources. Many ex-players and legends are appreciating what Trippier is doing at the age of 33. Eddie Howe also knows that Trippier is one of the most valuable players in his squad whom he can trust to put in a shift whenever he needs him. However, one of the greatest of all time in Premier League history and Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer is also full of praises for the right back of the Magpies. He was delighted with the way Trippier played against both PSG and West Ham although Newcastle failed to win against the latter. When he was asked about Trippier in The Rest is Football podcast, Shearer said,

"“Some of the balls he was putting into the box were just unbelievable. What a signing he has been for Newcastle, he’s in great form.”"

If Newcastle United want to do well this season, Kieran Trippier has to continue this form. Do you think he is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League?
