Newcastle player ratings vs West Ham: Top-class Trippier
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 6/10
It wasn’t a typical Bruno Guimaraes performance but he did well. He was limited in this game as he got a yellow card very early. Also, there was a scare of a second yellow and thankfully it didn’t happen. Moreover, Bruno tried to stay involved in this game and played a crucial role in helping Newcastle find the second goal. Although he didn’t have the best game, Bruno would get an average score in the Newcastle player ratings vs West Ham.
CM: Sandro Tonali – 5.5/10
To be fair, Sandro Tonali struggled in this game for Newcastle. Eddie Howe started him on the left side of the midfield three where he had to link up with Anderson. But, it was evident from the start that he was struggling to do that. That is why at the break, Howe had to switch him to the right side of the midfield and after that, he had a decent game. However, Newcastle fans expect a lot better from Sandro Tonali. Thus, a low score for him in the Newcastle player ratings vs West Ham.
CM: Sean Longstaff – 5.5/10
Sean Longstaff did put in a shift against West Ham on Sunday. As it is expected from the English midfielder, he was physical in this game and that was something Newcastle needed in the midfield. However, Newcastle fans have seen better performances from Longstaff than this one. He was out of position when West Ham scored their first goal. Overall, Sean Longstaff was average at best in this game against the Hammers.
