RB: Kieran Trippier – 8/10 (man of the match)

There is no doubt that Kieran Trippier has been one of the best signings in recent years for Newcastle United and he showed his worth once again on Sunday. After a stellar outing against PSG, Trippier once again shined against the Hammers at the London Stadium. Thus, he would get a high score in the Newcastle player ratings vs West Ham. He was defensively solid and that assist for Isak’s second goal was pure magic.

CB: Jamaal Lascelles – 5/10

Jamaal Lascelles was the weak link in the defense of the Magpies. His failure to track Emerson’s run resulted in the first goal of West Ham. Also, he was very naive at times for Newcastle which might have cost the game for Eddie Howe’s man. Thus, he would be getting a low score in the Newcastle player ratings vs West Ham.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

Fabian Schar is a solid figure in the defence of Newcastle United. Once again he was the calming figure centrally in the defensive as Jamal Lascelles was struggling big time. His reading of the game was brilliant and that is why he was able to make important interceptions. Also, Geordies expect that from their Swiss defender as he has been brilliant this season so far.

LB: Dan Burn – 7.5/10

One of the best Newcastle United players on the pitch by far, Dan Burn showed his class in this game. The question was whether he could handle Jared Bowen and he did that amazing as he kept the English winger quite relatively throughout the game. Apart from that, he was brilliant going forward and the way he picked up that run from Isak was magnificent. Overall, it was a brilliant day on the pitch for Dan Burn.
