Miguel Almiron – 8/10

Scored the first Champions League goal at St James Park this season and what a reception he got for it! He was in the right place at the right time and he slotted home coolly. Since that 8-0 win, the Paraguay international has been in fine form and long may it continue.

  • SUB: Jacob Murphy – 7/10. Had a great impact when he came on, putting the pressure on some tired PSG legs.

Alexander Isak – 7/10

Probably should have scored the opening goal but we’ll settle with the assist. He was patient with his attacking display and involved his wingers in the build up play a lot. He picked up a blow to the head in the first half which he was bandaged for but luckily, it wasn’t anything serious.

Anthony Gordon – 7.5/10

Covered every blade of grass on the pitch which wasn’t a surprise to see. Gordon has really come into his own at Newcastle this season and he got a good reception from the St James crowd for his incredible workrate throughout.

  • SUB: Matt Targett – 5/10. Was a nice moment for him to get his Champions League debut in the final minute or so.
