Here are the Newcastle player ratings from the Champions League game at St James Park which finished Newcastle 4-1 PSG.

Newcastle player ratings vs PSG

Nick Pope – 7/10

Not much he could’ve done for the PSG goal and in truth, he made some great saves throughout the match to give Newcastle a chance. Surprisingly, he didn’t have as much to do in this match as he did in the Milan match. Annoying he couldn’t pick up the clean sheet

Kieran Trippier – 8/10

Got his trademark assist, obviously. Given the standards he has of himself, he’d have been annoyed it took him until the second half to get it.

What a great performance from the England international. If his son idolised Mbappe before the game, his dad showed him that passion always beats talent when talent isn’t passionate.

Fabian Schar – 9/10

What. A. Performance.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – Schar is one of the greatest bargains in football history. The centre back was unfortunate not to get a clean sheet but my word did he make it up for it with that goal. He’ll be watching that for years, and so will we.

Jamaal Lascelles – 8/10

An absolutely brilliant defensive display from the captain as it was a night like this which proved his importance to the club. When called upon, Lascelles can deliver!

Dan Burn – 8/10

BIG Dan Burn got his goal in the Champions League! And what a performance it was from him. Aside from a few sloppy passes which didn’t count for anything, he was one of the best players on the pitch. The Toon army reacted well to that bullet header, obviously.
