Newcastle come up against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League tomorrow night. With PSG getting off to winning ways in their opening match, the Magpies can only overtake them with a win. With that being said, this post will include my Newcastle vs PSG prediction.

Firstly, let’s start with the predicted lineups.

Newcastle predicted lineup

Newcastle predicted lineup: Pope; Trippier, Botman, Lascelles, Burn; Guimaraes, Longstaff, Anderson; Murphy, Wilson, Gordon

PSG predicted lineup

PSG predicted lineup: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Skriniar, Hernandez; Vitinha, Ugarte, Zaire-Emery, Mbappe, Kolo Muani, Dembele

Now, let’s predict how the first half will pan out.

First half prediction

Certainly, PSG will look to attack in this game. Their main pull factor is that they have a star-studded attack, with the new man Randal Kolo Muani proving to be a serious goal threat. We all know about the rapid pace provided by Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

With that being said, I do expect PSG to get the first goal of the match. They’ll pile the pressure on Newcastle far too much to handle and it’ll be an early goal from the Parisiens. I’ll guess the goal scorer to be Ousmane Dembele.

Second half prediction

With the Magpies holding out at 0-1, Eddie Howe’s half-time team talk will be important. I would expect him to make one or two early changes too.

I do think Alexander Isak will get on the score sheet in the second half. His cunningness against tired PSG legs will prove invaluable. In fact, I’m predicting the Swede to get two goals in the second half. Attacking more ferociously in the second half when PSG have had their joy might be the way forward for Howe.

Newcastle vs PSG prediction

My full time Newcastle vs PSG prediction is that the Magpies will merge victorious by a narrow scoreline of 2-1.
