Newcastle United should open talks with Eddie Howe on extending his current contract as the manager of the Magpies as the club is happy with him.

After taking over from Steve Bruce as the Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe achieved things that nobody expected. Most people thought that he would be a stop-gap manager before a bigger name would be appointed as Newcastle’s manager. However, the ex-Bournemouth manager defied the odds and made himself one of the best managers Newcastle United had in recent years. He took the Magpies into the Champion League after 20 years of absence in Europe’s top competition. Howe signed the contract in 2021 and it was scheduled to expire in 2024. However, in 2022, Howe signed a long-term deal with the club (tenure undisclosed). Now, Newcastle owners are backing Eddie Howe to deliver the goods. So, his contract extension as the manager of the Magpies should begin soon if Newcastle wants him to be the manager for the future.

Newcastle wants Eddie Howe as their manager for the future

Newcastle and Eddie Howe are building something amazing. Although the start of the season was not great and that even prompted popular YouTube star Mark Goldbridge to say that Howe might not stay as Newcastle’s manager next year, it is still expected that the current manager of the Magpies will continue his role. Manchester City looked invincible this season winning all their games before facing Newcastle United at St. James’ Park. In that game, City were clearly the second best as the Magpies beat the Citizens by 1-0.

Eddie Howe has garnered praise from various other managers in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola, who is regarded as one of the best managers in the world also praised the ex-Bournemouth manager for the stunning job he did with the Tyneside. Also, Newcastle are building the future by keeping Eddie Howe in the mix and one can tell that by looking at their transfer strategy. So, it is obvious that Newcastle should start negotiating a new contract for their current manager as soon as possible.
