The January transfer window will be a busy one for Newcastle United as they look to add more players to their squad. Eddie Howe will explore opportunities.

Eddie Howe said at the end of the summer transfer window that he was happy with the squad he had. However, after Newcastle’s involvement in the Champions League, Eddie Howe seems to be looking to add more players to his squad. His players failed to “train fully” as Newcastle played back-to-back games against AC Milan and Sheffield United and it was “mentally and physically” challenging for his players. After that, Newcastle bosses have started to look for ways to get new players in. Now, it will be tough for Newcastle United because of the financial fair play. But it is not something they can’t do.

Look, Chelsea have shown the way on how a club can sign players even while following financial fair play. That is why the Magpies are now looking through their books to find a way to get new players in. Eddie Howe and the Newcastle board know the stress the players will have to face this season. Also, if the Magpies progress further in the European scene, this season will become even more hectic for their players. That is why Newcastle will be looking to do serious business in the January window. They are already looking to sign a new young striker.

Apart from this, Eddie Howe will be looking to bolster other areas of his squad. It will be interesting to see how he does that because the goal for the Magpies this season has to be qualifying for the Champions League and winning a trophy. Without adding players in January, it will be an uphill task for Eddie Howe and his men to achieve their season goals.
