Newcastle transfer news – Alexander Isak wanted by Barcelona
We reported earlier today that Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak was the topic of interest from Barcelona. It’s thought that the Catalan club see Isak as their future successor for Robert Lewandowski, who isn’t getting any younger.
Isak has been exceptional since he signed for the Magpies and given that he has until 2028 until his current St James’ Park deal runs out, it would be a shame for Eddie Howe to entertain this move. Personally, I doubt the move will happen.
Newcastle transfer news – Eddie Howe plots £52m move for Lucas Paqueta
Newcastle United have some amazing midfield options. When all their options are fully fit, it’s hard to beat their midfield block. However, the problem is that they don’t have much depth in this position, as demonstrated now – With some of their best midfielders unavailable, Howe is struggling to bulk his midfield.
This could be solved in January, as Newcastle are eying the potential swoop for Lucas Paqueta. After his move to Manchester City failed, Sky Sports report that Newcastle are considering a £52m move for Paqueta.
Newcastle transfer news – A reminder of Callum Wilson’s contract
For those who missed it, Wilson extended his current deal the other day. This was before the Englishman slotted home calmly from the spot to grant Newcastle a much-needed three points against Brentford. He’s here to stay until 2025 at least, let’s hope Isak follows the same path.
