Sean Longstaff – 5/10

It was a game of two halves for Longstaff. In the first half, he looked lost and gave the ball away a few times. He eased into the game after the break, though, as his presence was important in a lot of areas on the pitch. Overall, an average display.

Bruno Guimaraes – 8/10

He almost scored within the first half an hour, but it didn’t cross the line unfortunately. Other than the unfortunate missed opportunity, Bruno was his usual solid self. He rarely put a foot wrong as Newcastle won a lot of the midfield battles.

Elliot Anderson – 7/10

Throughout the match, Anderson was one of the best players on the pitch as Newcastle fans were reminded once again that he is the real deal.

The 25-year-old was great on the turn, looked comfortable in possession and even got forward to create some chances for the attacking line. Admittedly, he was in the squad for rotation purposes, but he did well given the chance and proved to Howe that he’s worthy of selection going forward.
