Eddie Howe propelled Newcastle United to the Champions League after 20 years last season. Even after a horrible start, he could see his players’ winning mentality.

Nobody imagined that Newcastle United could finish in the top 4 of the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League. Not even the fortune tellers could have predicted that. So, what Eddie Howe and his players did last season was unthinkable. However, this season, the start has been forgettable for Newcastle as they lost three games of their first four matches. The Magpies started the season with a 5-1 win over Aston Villa. After that, they had to endure three heartbreaking losses against Manchester City, Liverpool, and Brighton. Even Mark Goldbridge, a popular YouTube figure predicted that Howe will not be the Newcastle manager by this time next year. However, the Newcastle boss believes that he could turn things around with these players.

Newcastle will be facing Brentford at St. James’ Park this Saturday and he will be hoping that his team could make a comeback against the Bees. While speaking about his team, Eddie Howe is still showing faith in his players. While speaking about managing the players after those defeats, Howe said;

"“Getting my message across to the players and how I feel is one of the arts of management and, collectively, the players know as well. They will critique themselves, judge themselves, and they will know where their own levels are at. Together, we come forward and we go again into the next game”"

Newcastle’s boss thinks that his team can bounce back. He said;

"“They’re an incredible group to work with. The mentality is there – it doesn’t just change. Our mentality last year was the thing that drove us to the consistency that we showed. That’s not gone. That’s there.”"

Do you think Newcastle United will be able to rescue their season after a horrible start?
