Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan is backing Eddie Howe to deliver again

Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan is backing Eddie Howe to deliver again after a horrible start to the season. So, there is no threat to his job.

Newcastle United had a disastrous start to their Premier League campaign of the 2023/24 season. Although the campaign began with a thumping win over Aston Villa, soon things started going south for the northern club as the Magpies were defeated by the reigning champions Manchester City. After that, Liverpool beat Eddie Howe’s team followed by a shocking defeat at Brighton where Evan Ferguson scored a hat trick. These consecutive losses have placed the Magpies in the 14th position in the Premier League table. Due to this horrible start to the season, speculations started among media that Eddie Howe’s days as Newcastle United manager could be numbered. Fans were backing Eddie Howe. But, it was the question of whether the owner would back the British manager or not. In the midst of all these speculations, Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan gave his verdict on Eddie Howe.

With the questions on Eddie Howe’s status at the club rising, The Telegraph published an article that showed Newcastle United chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan fully supporting Eddie Howe. At the start of the season, Al-Rumayyan offered help to the English manager. Also, the transfer policy of buying young players to nurture at the club is seen as a long-term view of the managerial appointment of Eddie Howe who is getting full support from the PIF. Therefore, Eddie Howe will stay as the manager of the club and the recent performances are seen as a blip. Club chairman Al-Rumayyan believes that Howe can rescue the season.
