“That’s good news” exciting Newcastle United news on star player’s contract extension
George Caulkin from The Athletic gave an exciting update for Newcastle United fans on the contract extension of the Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Probably one of the best signings of Newcastle United of the past two decades is Bruno Guimaraes. Newcastle had offers for the Brazilian midfielder from all over Europe. However, the Magpies decided to fend off those offers and keep their main man. PSG and Liverpool tabled offers that were close to £100m. But, Eddie Howe decided to reject all the offers as he was looking to build a squad centring on his talisman. Also, there are reports that any club would have to pay way more than £100m to sign Guimaraes from Newcastle. That is why Newcastle want to give Bruno Guimaraes a new contract and extend his stay till 2028. Apart from that, the Magpies want to have a release clause in his contract which would be over £150m. The negotiations were ongoing on that release clause.
