Newcastle United makes new additions prior to summer window
By Cade Cracas
The talk of the town for quite some time now is the possible additions Newcastle United can make once the summer transfer window opens.
However, while most of that talk has been about on-field signings, the Magpies have had their eyes on Leicester City’s Finance Director, Simon Capper. Newly released reports say that the club has come to a deal to bring Capper to St. James Park for the 2023-24 season as their new chief financial officer.
Capper has spent the last 12 years of his career with Leicester City, helping to lead the team throughout some of their best years financially.
In the 2015–16 Premier League season, the Foxes were able to bring home a Premier League Championship, cementing them as one of the best teams in the world at the time. Having someone like Capper join the front office allows for the team to have a knowledgeable reference point as the team looks to grow.
With the team also having a new influx of funds from the Saudi Arabian owners, they need intelligent heads regarding their finances.
Newly released reports say that the club will be given over €250 million this offseason to utilize in the transfer market. The team also recently signed a new deal for their kit sponsorship, while maintaining their noon sponsorship on the side of their jersey.
Capper joins Newcastle United as the club’s second addition from Leicester after the team brought in recruitment operations manager Claire Burrows.
