Newcastle United interested in World Cup winner, Paulo Dybala
By Cade Cracas
Success seems to be rooted in Paulo Dybala’s genes, and bringing that success to a team like Newcastle United could drastically heighten the team’s ceiling moving forward.
With the attacking group struggling due to injury and inconsistency, the Magpies need to find more players they can trust to find goals and set up the offense. Dybala, with his speedy skills, could be the answer to those issues.
The 29-year-old previously played for Juventus, who are sitting atop the Premier League table. While that seems like the dream situation as he gets to be a part of a World Cup-winning country in Argentina, play for a successful Series A team and be involved in the Champions League, recent allegations and issues saved Dybala from the limelight.
The team most recently was accused of artificially inflating the value of transfer fees to manipulate its reported finances and received a penalty from Italy’s soccer federation. Recently, the appeal that Juventus sent was accepted and pushed the issues to the next season.
A player like Dybala might not want to stick around and be in the same league as a team like that, as the whole league has been under recent scrutiny.
During his time with Juventus, he was considered one of the best playmakers and ball handlers in the world.
Now with AS Roma, he signed for Jose Mourinho’s team as a free agent and has contributed 11 goals and six assists. With that production, you’d expect that he would have a higher worth, but according to transfermarkt his current market price sits at just €30.00m.
His release clause is also extremely available for teams to match as it sits at just €12.00m.
A team like Newcastle United can easily match that and bring in the Argentinian, who would drastically make an impact from day one.
With openings in the midfield, Dybala would fit right in with the likes of Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes. He also has the ability to play on the wing, and could easily slide on the outside with Allan Saint-Maximin.
This would also free up the option to utilize Miguel Almiron off the bench, creating a deeper rotation for the Magpies down the stretch of the season.
Its only a matter of time until Newcastle United makes a drastic move to better the team. Do you want to see them make a move for the playmaking 29-year-old?
