Newcastle United is gearing up for potentially the biggest rematch of the 2022-2023 season. Earlier in the year they fell to Liverpool and had an opportunity to find revenge, but were unable to. Now, the Magpies will be taking on Manchester United, a team that downed them in the Carabao Cup final, with a spot inside the top 4 on the line.
The Premier League table has been hard to climb this season, and Newcastle United is no stranger to that, but taking down the Carabao Cup champions would be a perfect confidence booster down the stretch.
On Sunday, April 2, Newcastle will be taking on Manchester United with an opportunity to find revenge and climb the league table.
Not only did Man United crush the Magpies in the Cup Final, but that loss would start a streak of struggles for them heading forward. After the loss, they would go on to lose in crushing fashion to Manchester City before finally bouncing back.
Now, on a two-game win streak, the confidence should be high.
If Newcastle is able to pull off a victory come Sunday, they would be back inside of the top 4 for the first time in over a month. Currently, Newcastle sits behind Man United by three points, 47 to 50. A win would put them overtop Man United, which would at least put them into fourth, and if Tottenham loses, that would put Newcastle in third.
This contest is going to pay out huge results for either side that pulls off a win.
With the team heading into one of their biggest matches of the year against Manchester United, it will be no shock to see the Magpies locked in and ready to go on Sunday.
Newcastle United will take on Manchester United Sunday, April 2, at 4:30 pm GMT with the home crowd around them in St. James Park
