Newcastle United has been rumored in a handful of transfers and signings in the 2022-2023 season. Still, the most realistic may be Aresenal‘s defender Kieran Tierney joining the team at St. James Park.

Tierney has been in the limelight for an extended period of time after the Arsenal defender lost his position in the starting rotation. This past offseason the Gunners signed Oleksandr Zinchenko who instantly made his way into Tierney’s spot.

Throughout the season Tierney has started just four contests, contributing a few bright moments and a goal in the Europa League group stage, but outside of that nothing has broken the stat sheet.

While his current worth is roughly £30,000,000, Newcastle United has more than enough money to send an offer his way this offseason.

He’s one of those 25-year-old backs you don’t want to miss out on with his incredible speed and awareness. Newcastle United enjoys playing with speedy backs that can creatively make plays when need be, and that’s something he does well.

Playing the opposite of Kieran Trippier would also be beneficial as it allows for more confidence within your backline. Manager Eddie Howe would be able to utilize the more high-pressure, loose-style defense that he enjoys.

Not to mention you’d also have a Kieran-to-Kieran connection that would be the media and announcer’s dream come true when they create a set piece together.

Out of every addition that Newcastle could make this offseason, Kieran Tierney may be the one that is most likely to happen and the one that may make the biggest impact for the No. 5 team in the Premier League.
