Newcastle United targets Fulham star Antonee Robinson

Newcastle United has once again found its way into the transfer rumor headlines as the team looks to find itself a reliable left-back.

On the right side of the defense, the team has had incredible consistency from Kieran Trippier who has been the most reliable player on the team. Now, the team has begun making its rounds as they look to lock down the defense this offseason.

In recent weeks a multitude of players have made their way into the headlines surrounding a potential signing from Newcastle United or a transfer to St. James Park, but one, in particular, has stuck around.

That player would be Fulham star left-back Antonee Robinson, who played for Team USA in the 2022 World Cup. The 25-year-old has found himself in incredible form for the No. 6 ranked Premier League squad.

For Newcastle United, this addition would drastically increase the ability of the defense. Robinson offers speed, versatility and attacking play which is exactly what Newcastle manager Eddie Howe likes in his outside backs.

He also offers immense stamina and energy as he played every minute for Team USA during the World Cup.

The only concern with him would be the fact that he is under contract with Fulham until June of 2024. This would require Newcastle United to make offers for the young star, instead of being able to talk directly with him.

However, his worth sits around €10,000,000 which would be very easy for Newcastle to negotiate with. Outside of Newcastle AC Milan and Manchester City have been the two squads reportedly in the race for him, which could result in a bidding war with his value potentially reaching the €20,000,000-€25,000,000 mark.

If that were the case, I have no doubt that the team that is trying to make an appearance in the Champions League would make a splash to lock down their defense.
