Newcastle United are interested in Juventus midfielder

After weeks of only being linked with wingers and strikers, Newcastle United are once again starting to be linked with players in other positions as well. And it looks like they could have a Juventus midfielder in their sights in order to improve in the middle of the park.

As reported by Tutto Juve, Newcastle United and West Ham United are two clubs interested in Arthur.

The midfielder enjoyed a brilliant rise at Gremio before finding himself at Barcelona. He was very highly rated during his time at Camp Nou as well and it was considered to be a massive mistake on their part when they allowed the Brazilian to join Juventus.

It is safe to say that it has not quite worked out for Arthur in Turin. He has struggled to break into Juventus’ first-team on a consistent basis and could very well be on his way out of the club in the near future. It remains to be seen if Newcastle United end up being his destination or not.

While it is pretty clear that Arthur has not set Serie A on fire ever since his move to Juventus a couple of years back, there is very little question about his quality and talent.

The Brazilian midfielder is very good when it comes to dictating play in the middle of the park and setting the tone for the team. And he could be an excellent addition for the Magpies if they can sign him.

Of course, he is not someone who will make a difference with goals and assists, but Arthur can definitely bring a calmness and balance in Newcastle United’s midfield, which could help them control games.

It will be very interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee Juventus will seek in order to part ways with Arthur though.
