Newcastle United are eyeing double signing from Ligue 1
Newcastle United have faced quite a few failures recently as they attempt to strengthen their ranks going forward. The club have been linked with a series of names but have not been able to sign any of them till now. That will need to change though, if they are to challenge for the European qualification spots, although it must pointed out that Eddie Howe’s side did win the first game of the season, 2-0 vs Nottingham Forest.
A striker must be near the top of Newcastle United’s wish list this summer. And till now, they have been linked with moves for the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Alexander Isak, Armando Broja and several others, without any of them materialising.
On the other hand, the club have recently been linked with Leicester City attacking midfielder, James Maddison, but the Foxes’ valuation of the Englishman might end up proving a bit too steep for Newcastle United.
It looks like the Magpies have set their sights on two more players from Ligue 1 though. As reported by 90min, Newcastle United could push ahead with moves for Marseille’s Bamba Dieng and Lyon’s Lucas Paqueta.
Newcastle United appear to have their eyes on Ligue 1 duo
Ligue 1 has proven to be one of Newcastle United’s favourites leagues to sign players from recently. Bruno Guimaraes was brought in from Lyon and he is looking like a spectacular signing. On the other hand, Sven Botman arrived from Lille and he is expected to be the future of the Magpies’ defence, once he settles into the Premier League.
Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Paqueta for months as well, but nothing has materialised till now.
On the other hand, Dieng seems to be a new name on the radar of the club and he has shown a lot of promise for Marseille till now and could actually be a very good signing for the Magpies up front.
