Newcastle United have faced a tough time getting deals over the line in recent weeks. They started this summer transfer window in brilliant fashion, turning Matt Targett’s loan deal from Aston Villa permanent while signing Sven Botman from Lille and Nick Pope from Burnley. Since then though, things have not gone their way.

We saw both Callum Wilson and Chris Wood struggle to find the back of the net consistently last season and as a result, the Magpies could do with another striker in their ranks.

It must be said that there are hopes that Wilson will look like a completely different player this season, now that Newcastle United are a team in form and he can expect plenty of chances to come his way in front of goal. Even then, it might not be a bad idea to bring in another striker.

Armando Broja is someone that Newcastle United have been linked with in recent times but it looks like Eddie Howe is not particularly keen on the Chelsea striker. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Alex Crook said:

"“I’m not convinced by the Newcastle links to Broja, to be honest. I’ve been told Howe doesn’t want him. I’m there to be proved wrong, but I’m told he’s not on their list.”"

Newcastle United might not make move for Chelsea striker

Broja spent the previous campaign on loan at Southampton. While he did not score a lot of goals, it was a promising spell overall, as the Albanian striker showed that he has all the attributes required to be a top player in the Premier League.

Also, he came off the bench against Everton in Chelsea’s opening game of the season and put in a very positive display, showing the ability to both hold up the ball as well as carry it up the pitch.

Thus, it does look like Broja might be a very good striker to have, but at the same time, it looks unlikely that Newcastle United will make a move for him.
