Nottingham Forest will be making their return to the Premier League after a long, long time and standing in their way, in their very first match back in the top flight of English football are Newcastle United. And it goes without saying that this is a mouth-watering game between two huge clubs, who have not tasted much success in recent times.

In fact, Newcastle United had looked like one of the favourites to get relegated last season before they decided to bring in Eddie Howe as the new manager and also strengthened the squad adequately to the point where they were not only able to avoid relegation but also climb up to 11th in the Premier League, something that very few people could have expected at the turn of the year.

Now though, The Magpies will have their eyes on getting even better, and consequently, they would be looking to get all three points against Nottingham Forest to kick start their Premier League campaign.

Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper, does not seem intimidated by the occasion and stage that awaits his club even though he recognises the work going on at Newcastle United. As reported by Chronicle Live, he told Sky Sports:

"“Newcastle away, a big historic stadium, passionate support… the club is in a good place and I imagine the city is as well.“I get the feeling they feel they’re onto something, so we have to go there recognising that, but embracing it as well and being ready for it. We are certainly not fearing it.”"

Nottingham Forest must be delighted to find their way back into the Premier League after decades and they would surely be looking to stay up this season.

As a result, the club have made several additions to their squad over the course of the summer and many believe that they are capable of springing a few surprises this season.

Newcastle United will be hoping that they are able to get all three points when they come up against Nottingham Forest over the course of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
