Newcastle United have endured a very difficult time when it comes to getting deals over the line in recent weeks. The Magpies have been linked with a long list of players, without any of those moves transpiring till now. While Eddie Howe already has an exciting squad to pick the team from, there are a few gaps in the squad which need filling if they are to challenge for an European qualification spot this season.

It will be very interesting to see which positions Newcastle United finally end up making their additions in this summer.

Most the links surrounding the club recently have been about strikers and wingers, although there are a few other positions which might be in need as well.

Fabrizio Romano has dropped a transfer update surrounding the club which will be music to the ears of a lot of their supporters. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, the transfer expert said about the current situation:

"“I can see Newcastle moving on two or three targets. It depends also in this case on the outgoings, but they will be in for a striker and a creative midfielder.”"

Fabrizio drops exciting update about Newcastle United

It will be brilliant if Newcastle United are able to get in a couple of players as soon as possible with the new Premier League season starting this weekend.

A striker is definitely a position which needs to be fulfilled. Neither Callum Wilson nor Chris Wood were able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis last season. Newcastle United will need someone to do so though, if they are to improve upon their 11th place finish.

On the other hand, a new creative midfielder could be a solid addition to Howe’s side as well. Now though, one can only hope that the Magpies are able to get deals over the line as quick as possible.

Their first game of Premier League season is against the newly promoted Nottingham Forest, and it promises to be a mouth-watering game of football between the two sides.
