It is no secret that Newcastle United have had a tough time getting deals over the line in recent weeks and have already been dealt quite a few transfer blows. One of the areas that the Magpies have seemed to be interested in strengthening is on the wings. And they have been linked with a long list of names as well.

Jack Harrison of Leeds United, Harvey Barnes of Leicester City, Callum Hudson-Odoi of Chelsea, Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen and several other wingers have been linked with a potential move to St James’ Park without any of them transpiring.

Now, a new name seems to have been added to that quickly growing list. And it is that of Kamaldeen Sulemana of Rennes.

As reported by L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), Newcastle United are considering a concrete move for Rennes left-winger Sulemana. It was just last summer that the Ghana international had joined the French club.

Newcastle United are considering move for Ligue 1 winger

Sulemana has been impressive ever since joining Rennes. He is a very good dribbler with the ball, who knows his way to the back of the net and also possesses decent passing ability.

He is also just 20 years of age and as a result, if Newcastle United are able to bring him in, he would represent a long-term addition for the Magpies.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Sulemana made 27 appearances for Rennes last season, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists in just 1391 minutes of football.

He is also already a regular in the Ghana national team picture and it goes without saying that there are high hopes surrounding the youngster. Newcastle United have already made a few additions from Ligue 1 recently in the form of Sven Botman and Bruno Guimaraes. Could Sulemana be the next one to follow in that path?
