Newcastle United have been linked with a couple of Leicester City stars in recent times. The Magpies need to strengthen on the wings and are believed to have an eye on Harvey Barnes, who has been one of the Foxes’ best players over the last several years. On the other hand, it is believed that they have also made a failed £40 million transfer bid for James Maddison.

Now, it remains to be seen if Newcastle United are able to get deals done for either of them. Leicester City players seem to be in high demand in general. Chelsea seem to be chasing the signature of Wesley Fofana at the moment while Youri Tielemans has been heavily linked with a summer exit as well.

On the other hand, it looks like Leicester City might have an eye on a Newcastle United player, with Kasper Schmeichel’s future at the club unclear.

As tweeted out by Craig Hope, Leicester City have shown an interest in Newcastle United goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka, although he is not yet part of any packing for Maddison:

Newcastle United signed Nick Pope from Burnley this summer, after the Clarets were relegated last season. The English international is expected to be the number one between the posts for the Magpies moving forward.

Many have felt though that that is a bit harsh after the performances that Dubravka put in last season.

He came into the Newcastle United team and made the first-team gloves his own, playing a big part in their climb out of the relegation zone and ultimate 11th place finish in the Premier League. With chances expected to be limited this season though, it would not be a massive surprise if the goalkeeper sealed a move away. After his performances last season, there is not expected to be any lack of suitors for the Slovakian international.
