Newcastle United have been linked with a lot of players in recent times as the Magpies continue to look for ways to improve their squad. Some of these players are currently plying their trade abroad while there are several others who represent their Premier League rivals at this point of time. Thus, it would be very difficult to pull off moves for them and it remains to be seen if Eddie Howe’s side end up making a serious push.

One area of the pitch where the Magpies appear to be looking to improve in is on the wings. Moussa Diaby was believed to have been their top target there this summer but at the moment, it does not feel like they will be able to get a deal for him over the line.

As a result, they have been linked with several other wingers and a number of them are currently playing in the Premier League. Names such as Jack Harrison, Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes have come up as potential signings for the Magpies this summer.

As reported by GIVEMESPORT, speaking about the situation, Keith Downie said:

"“I don’t think they’ll just bring in a striker or a winger for the sake of it. But the names that you mentioned, Barnes, Harrison and Gordon, they’re all players that the club are interested in.”"

It is not hard to see why Newcastle United might be interested in the trio, who could all prove to be solid signings for the Magpies.

Barnes has been one of the most highly rated players at Leicester City for a long time although he was not at his best last season. Even then, he did put up solid numbers. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.

On the other hand, both Gordon and Harrison are coming off of impressive individual campaigns even though their teams, Everton and Leeds United, struggled last season.
