Newcastle United have been frustrated in the summer transfer window recently. They did a wonderful job when it came to adding players at the back, by turning Matt Targett’s loan from Aston Villa into a permanent deal while also signing Sven Botman from Lille and Nick Pope from Burnley.

The problem has been getting players in in forward areas. It had looked like they had pulled off a move for highly-rated French striker, Hugo Ekitike, but that did not transpire and he ended up joining Paris Saint-Germain instead. On the other hand, rumours of interest in Real Sociedad star, Alexander Isak, also ended up going nowhere.

Another player that they have been linked with in recent times though is Chelsea’s Armando Broja and the Magpies appear to have been handed a boost in that regard, with West Ham United, who were also linked with the striker, deciding to go after Gianluca Scamacca instead.

As reported by i, Newcastle United and Everton are back on the Broja watch. The Magpies’ interest in the player is ongoing and a loan offer may yet appeal to Chelsea, who don’t want to let him go but are struggling to find a role for him at the same time.

Broja spent the previous season on loan at Southampton and although he did not end up finding the back of the net a bunch of times, he did show a lot of qualities which could help him become a top player in the Premier League in the right team.

Thus, he could be a solid addition for Newcastle United, who need a striker, having seen both Callum Wilson and Chris Wood struggle to find the back of the net last season.

On the other hand, Everton could do with someone like Broja as well, having seen Richarlison leave the club this summer.
