Eddie Howe might have very interesting Newcastle United transfer plan
Newcastle United’s summer transfer window has been a tale of two halves till now. They enjoyed a brilliant start, signing Matt Targett on a permanent basis after his excellent loan spell from Aston Villa. They would also bring in Nick Pope from Burnley, after being linked with a goalkeeper for months. And even though it felt like the Sven Botman saga had dragged on, even that was over the line by the start of July.
Since then though, they have struggled. A move for Hugo Ekitike had looked close but ultimately ended up going nowhere. The Magpies have been linked with several other players as well but have not been able to complete any more signings.
With the new Premier League season not far away, many fans are worried that the club might not have done enough in the transfer window till now. But Newcastle United might have a bold plan.
As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Dharmesh Sheth said about the Newcastle United situation:
"“I speak to my colleague Pete Graves, who is a Newcastle United fan and has got quite a few good ins with regard to what Newcastle United’s business is going to look like.“He wouldn’t be surprised, he told me, if Newcastle start the season with the squad that they’ve got now, see how the first few games go and keep in mind various other signings.”"
Newcastle United might have a bold transfer plan this summer
Just like everything else, there are both pros and cons, if Newcastle United did end up starting the season with the squad that they already have.
At the end of the day, they were one of the best teams in the second half of the previous campaign and we still do not know what they are truly capable of with this current squad. Also, it will be interesting to see how Callum Wilson does in this team, as he spent a large chunk of time out injured when the Magpies were playing well.
Thus, going in with the same squad for the first few games, might give them an idea of where they stand and what areas they need to improve in.
But at the same time, there is the risk involved as well that a few bad results could see them fall behind and might end up having huge implications on the Premier League table come the end of the season.
