Journalist hints at Newcastle United mystery signing
Newcastle United are a club who have been surrounded by transfer rumours for months now and it is not hard to understand why either. The club’s new ownership were expected to make a statement this summer and they have certainly done that already, signing Matt Targett, Nick Pope and Sven Botman on permanent deals. More signings are expected to come over the coming weeks though.
The Magpies have been linked with a long list of players in recent times. This includes the likes of Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen, Alexander Isak of Real Sociedad, Thorgan Hazard of Borussia Dortmund, Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton, and many others.
It remains to be seen what kind of additions Newcastle United end up making to Eddie Howe’s squad moving forward.
Newcastle United might potentially end up making a mystery signing as well and it appears that a lot of work is going on at St James’ Park this week. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, journalist Dean Jones said about the situation:
"“It sounds like a lot of work is going on at Newcastle this week. We know about the Diaby and [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin links, but I think they are talking to agents about someone else significant right now.“It’s a mystery who it is. I’m trying to work it out, but from talking to a few people, it feels like something is going on.”"
Could Newcastle United end up making a mystery signing this summer?
Newcastle United have been linked with an impressive list of stars in recent times and any of those could prove to be incredible signings for the Magpies.
But could the club potentially be moving for someone in silence, and there is not a lot of rumours about him in the media? Only time shall tell.
Whatever may be the case, Newcastle United fans should be delighted with where the club seem to be headed. They had seemed destined for relegation till the turn of the calendar but right now, many even believe that the Magpies are good enough to challenge for the European qualification spots next season.
Thus, Howe, the players and everybody else associated with the club deserve a lot of credit for the turnaround and hopefully, the Magpies will continue to get better.
