Newcastle United might have already added some big names to their squad this summer but there are several more players that they are being linked with as well, as the Magpies still need to strengthen in more than one position. One such position is striker, as Eddie Howe saw both Callum Wilson and Chris Wood struggle to find the back of the net last season.

Thus, it would not be a bad idea on the part of Newcastle United to make a move for another striker. It had looked like they had found their man in the form of Hugo Ekitike but the move to bring the Frenchman from Stade Reims has dragged on, and as a result, they are being linked with other forwards as well.

Armando Broja, currently with Chelsea, is believed to be one such alternative target for Newcastle United.

Thomas Tuchel will assess him in pre-season before Chelsea make a concrete decision about the striker’s future but even if they were to let him leave, the Blues are expected to look for a transfer fee around £30 million. But as reported by The Northern Echo, Newcastle United would like to sign Broja on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent transfer next summer, as that would likr to make a big move for Moussa Diaby.

Newcastle United want to sign striker on loan this summer as they also want Diaby

Diaby is believed to be Newcastle United’s number one target this summer and as a result, a loan move for someone like Broja would make a lot of sense for the Magpies.

Recent rumours have suggested that the youngster is open to a move to St James’ Park as well but it is still unclear whether he has a loan-term future at Chelsea or not.

He is very highly rated and did a decent job on loan at Southampton last season, but he might not be ready to make an impact on the first-team at Chelsea. Thus, a loan exit might make sense for all parties involved.
