Most of the transfer rumours surrounding Newcastle United have involved potential arrivals. But there are a few players that the club will need to let go as well over the coming weeks and months, in order to maintain the balance of the squad and also to potentially stay within the Financial Fair Play rules.

It is going to be easier said than done though, when it comes to finding new clubs for a few of Newcastle United’s current squad, who do not seem to have any clear future at St James’ Park moving forward.

As reported by The Athletic (via HITC), Newcastle United are struggling to offload Dwight Gayle, Jeff Hendrick and Ciaran Clark due to the trio’s hefty pay packets.

It remains to be seen if the situation changes over the course of the summer transfer window but as things stand, it might be best for both the club and the players to part ways, as things stand.

Newcastle United are struggling to find new clubs for trio

Newcastle United will have to find the right balance this summer, both in terms of arrivals and exits, if they are to make the required progress next season.

The club have already come a long way under the management of Eddie Howe, climbing out of the relegation zone and finishing 11th in the Premier League last season, one of the most remarkable turnarounds in the history of English football.

Now though, it is about taking the next step and potentially challenging for a top six spot next season.

If the club can show the form that they did in the second half of the 2021/22 season, then there is no reason that they could not put up a realistic challenge for the European qualification spots in the upcoming campaign. Let’s see how things go from here.
