One of the players that Newcastle United have been linked with in recent times is Juventus and French international midfielder, Adrien Rabiot. Once one of the most highly-rated youngsters in all of Europe, he has not had the greatest of time since swapping Paris for Turin, and it looks like an exit might not be too far away in his future.

Newcastle United on the other hand, are expected to be in strengthening mode this summer and could certainly do with a player who has the wealth of top level experience that Rabiot possesses, despite the fact that he has been underwhelming in recent years.

They are not the only club who have been linked with Rabiot in recent times though and it looks like the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United could be very much in the race to sign him as well.

Amidst all this, there is an interesting update on the situation of the midfielder in Turin. As reported by L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), Rabiot is said to have asked to leave Juventus, with one year left on his current deal with the club. It is believed that the Italian giants have set their transfer asking price in the range of €15 million to €20 million.

Newcastle United handed major boost in the race to sign Rabiot

If Newcastle United are indeed able to sign Rabiot for a fee in that range, it would have to be considered as a major bargain in the modern day transfer market.

It remains to be seen how things transpire from here on forward, as several other top clubs are expected to try to sign Rabiot from Juventus as well.

Of course, he is not the only midfielder that Newcastle United have been linked with in recent months either and they should have their options open.
