Newcastle United linked with two Inter Milan players
Newcastle United were expected to make a splash in this summer transfer window, but have not made the start that they would have been hoping for. The club have completed the permanent signing of Matt Targett, who had impressed on loan from Aston Villa, since arriving in January. That is a major positive for the Magpies to say the least. On the other hand though, they have had their problems as well.
It had looked like they were closing in on moves for Sven Botman and Hugo Ekitike, both players they had been linked with since January. But now, as both moves have dragged on for a while, there are doubts whether they will even be completed or not.
On the other hand, they continue to be linked with players left, right and centre, and the latest names are those of two players currently at Inter Milan.
As reported by Calciomercatoweb, Newcastle United could set their sights on Denzel Dumfries and Hakan Calhanoglu. It is believed that Inter Milan will need to let some players leave this summer in order to balance the books.
Newcastle United linked with moves for Inter Milan duo
Both Calhanoglu and Dumfries are coming off of promising seasons for Inter Milan, but considering the situation, it looks like the Italian giants might need to make a tough decision surrounding their future.
On the other hand, Newcastle United are not the only club who are expected to be interested, if the Inter Milan duo did leave this summer. It is believed that it could take a transfer fee around €60 million to sign both.
It remains to be seen how things turn out over the coming weeks and months, but if Newcastle United are actually able to sign players with the quality of Calhanoglu and Dumfries, it could take the Magpies to the next level.
