Newcastle United have asked about three Burnley players
Newcastle United find themselves in an interesting position right now. The Magpies have been linked with a series of high profile names this summer but have not completed any transfer deals yet, except for the signing of Matt Targett on a permanent deal after he impressed during his loan spell from Aston Villa. The club need to make more additions though if they are to challenge the Big Six for a European qualification spot next season.
Burnley might have been relegated from the Premier League last season but that has not stopped Newcastle United from asking about three of their players, as Eddie Howe looks to strengthen his squad this summer.
The rumours about Nick Pope broke out earlier today but it looks like there are two more players from Burnley on the radar of the Magpies.
As reported by 90min, Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil are two other Burnley players that Howe likes.
Newcastle United are interested in three players from Burnley
It is not hard to see why Newcastle United might be interested in Cornet, who enjoyed a standout season in the Premier League, especially when you consider the fact that he played for a club that got relegated.
The same cannot be said about McNeil though, who ended up disappointing. He has had good seasons in the past though and at 22 years of age, has plenty of time to improve and develop his game.
When it comes to Pope, Newcastle United have been linked with one goalkeeper after the other in recent times as it looks like Howe wants to add to his options between the posts even though Martin Dubravka has impressed in recent times. The England international is expected to leave this summer after Burnley’s relegation, as he must be keen on booking his place in the England squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
