Newcastle United are expected to look to strengthen their forward line in the summer and it is believed to be only a matter of time before they complete a move for Stade Reims’ Hugo Ekitike. That would be a huge move for sure, as the Frenchman is one of the most highly-rated young players in the world right now.

At the same time though, they could need someone more experienced to lead the line and appear to have their eyes on a two-time Champions League winner.

The player in question is none other than Alvaro Morata, who has spent the past couple of seasons on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid but his future is up in the air right now.

As reported by CalcioMercato, Juventus are not going to sign Morata for a €35 million transfer fee following his loan spell. At the same time though, they have not completely given up hope of bringing him back to Turin. On the other hand, in addition to Arsenal and Barcelona, Newcastle United have also taken information about the striker.

Newcastle United are interested in the Spanish striker

Morata has had an interesting career for sure. Even though he has never quite found his footing anywhere, he has managed to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world in the form of Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

Thus, the Spaniard has plenty of top level experience and could be prove to be a solid addition for Newcastle United, who are lacking in that department.

At the same time though, any move for Morata will be very risky. He has a reputation for being a confidence player, who can go through tough spells. Also, we have already seen him fail to adjust to life in the Premier League once, during his time at Chelsea.
