Newcastle United could make a glorious start to the summer transfer window. Rumours have suggested that the club have agreed a deal with Stade Reims to sign Hugo Ekitike already, which could rise up to €46 million with add-ons. And now, it appears that they have managed to agree personal terms with an England international as well.

Martin Dubravka showed some great form in the 2021/22 season under the management of Eddie Howe. Yet, the club have been linked with one goalkeeper after another in recent times. Thus, it does feel like it is an area that the Magpies want to improve in.

The likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga of Chelsea, Bernd Leno of Arsenal, Jordan Pickford of Everton, Kasper Schmeichel of Leicester City and a few others have been linked with a switch to St James’ Park recently. But it looks like it could be Manchester United’s Dean Henderson who is headed towards the move.

As reported by 90min, Henderson has already agreed personal terms with Newcastle United and is waiting on the two clubs to decide the make up of the deal.

Henderson was considered as the future number one of Manchester United for a good while and even managed to break into the first-team in the second half of the 2020/21 season.

Going into that summer, it was David de Gea who was linked with an Old Trafford exit, while Manchester United fans believed they had found their next long-term goalkeeper in Henderson.

Things are looking very different now though, as the Spaniard has enjoyed a great season while Henderson spent most of it sitting on the bench and is believed to be looking for an exit.

Newcastle United could provide him exactly that and Henderson seems interested as well. But the two clubs will have to agree a deal as well and it remains to be seen if that happens.
