Newcastle United are expected to continue to rebuild their squad over the course of the summer transfer window, after they made some excellent additions in January, which have gone a long way in helping them rise up from a relegation battle to finish 11th in the Premier League table. That is quite an achievement for Eddie Howe and his side but one suspects that they will have their eyes on much more moving forward.

Thus, do not be surprised to see the Magpies make significant additions to their squad over the coming months, all over the pitch.

One area that they could look to sign more players in is their midfield and it looks like they have their eyes on a player from Juventus.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Newcastle World), Adrien Rabiot is one of the players that Juventus could let go in the summer as Max Allegri could opt to rebuild the squad. Newcastle United and Chelsea are the two teams in pole position to sign the player.

Rabiot had been one of the most highly rated young players in the world during his time at PSG and as a result, had arrived at Juventus with a lot of expectations.

His stint in Turin has not gone as expected though, but it is clear that that has not stopped some of the biggest clubs in the world from having an interest in the Frenchman.

He has plenty of top level experience at club level, for PSG and Juventus, and at the international level for the France national team. Thus, if Newcastle United are able to sign him, it would be a major coup for them. Of course, that is easier said than done and let’s see how things unfold over the coming weeks and months.
