Newcastle United have been linked with one goalkeeper after another in recent months even though Martin Dubravka has done a wonderful job between the posts for the Magpies. It does look like the club want to bring in someone there, whether as competition or to replace him. And as a result, some pretty big name players seem to be on their radar.

Kepa Arizzabalaga of Chelsea, Jordan Pickford of Everton, Bernd Leno of Arsenal and several more  are believed to be on their radar.

But the one topping the list of the club’s goalkeeping targets seems to be Manchester United’s Dean Henderson, who has barely gotten a chance to featured this season, first under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Ralf Rangnick.

It will all depend on what Manchester United decide to do with Henderson but for now, Newcastle United seem like the favourites to sign him, if he does depart Old Trafford. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, Dean Jones said about the entire situation:

"“It all depends on whether Manchester United decide to sell him or loan him out. I think if he becomes available for a loan, it’ll be more than just Newcastle United who would be interested in Dean Henderson, but right now you would say that Newcastle are favourites to get him.”"

Newcastle United appear to be the favourites to sign the Manchester United star

Henderson has been very highly rated around English football for a long time now and many believed that he was set to be the long-term number one for Manchester United, as David de Gea continued to struggle for form.

Henderson would manage to get ahead of De Gea in the pecking order in the second half of last season as well, as it looked like he was destined to hold on to it for the next decade or so.

That was not to be though and Henderson is already playing the role of a back up goalkeeper once again to De Gea, who has been in great form this season.

It remains to be seen if Newcastle United are pull off a move for Henderson or not, although if they do, it would be a major coup on their part.
