Newcastle United might have made a significant investment in the January transfer window and improved their squad a lot, but the club did not make a marquee signing. One would expect them to do that in the near future though, as the new ownership must be keen to make their presence felt in the Premier League.

Of course, most of the club’s fans must be absolutely delighted after finishing 11th in the Premier League when just months ago, it had looked like they were destined to be relegated.

Now, it looks like Eddie Howe could be the man to take the club back to the top of the English game, if they end up backing the manager in the summer transfer window and all indications till now have suggested that they will be doing that.

Amidst all this, the club are being linked with a blockbuster move for Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Neymar.

Newcastle United linked with massive move for Neymar

As reported by L’Equipe (via The Sun), it is believed that PSG will be open to parting ways with Neymar this summer if a good offer comes in but will find it very difficult to find a club for the Brazilian. That is unless Newcastle United come to the rescue as they are the only team who can afford him.

Of course, even though one would expect Newcastle United to make a big name signing this summer, it is still hard to see them trying to bring Neymar to St James’ Park and it might not be the right move for either the player or the club.

Neymar has not been at his best for some time now and there are huge question marks whether he could deal with the physicality of the Premier League, considering his history of injuries. And that is all while ignoring the transfer fee that it might take to sign the Brazilian.
