Newcastle United plan £35 million move and Eddie Howe reunion
Newcastle United have looked like a team transformed under the management of Eddie Howe. They appeared to be headed down when he joined the club as manager, and now, there is a possibility that the Magpies could finish in the top 10 of the Premier League table. That is one of the most remarkable turnarounds in English football history.
Now, it must be pointed out that the club did make significant additions to their squad in January and they did end up having the desired effect. Thus, expect Newcastle United to continue strengthening their squad, when the summer transfer window opens.
One of the best things that they did in January was concentrating on solidifying the defence, signing Dan Burn and Kieran Trippier, while bringing in Matt Targett on loan from Aston Villa. And it looks like the club have their eyes on defenders once again this summer.
As reported by the Mirror, Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings is a £35 million summer transfer target for Newcastle United.

Howe and Mings have a long history. It was during the manager’s time at Bournemouth that the defender had joined the Cherries from Ipswich Town.
The move did not go as planned though as Mings struggled with injuries during his spell at Bournemouth. Ultimately, he would find his feet at Aston Villa and has turned his career around quite impressively.
He has not only shined at the club level for Aston Villa but also made several appearances for the England national team.
Now, 29 years of age, Mings is in the prime of his career as a footballer and is a leader as well. It looks like Newcastle United are hoping to reunite him with Howe at St James’ Park. Let’s see what the future holds though for the Aston Villa star and England international.
