The 1-1 draw between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur sent Jurgen Klopp’s side to the top of the Premier League, level on points with Manchester City but with a better goal difference. But Pep Guardiola’s side have played a game less and thus, when they take on Newcastle United, the eyes of the world will on the game.

Manchester City are coming off of a massive blow in midweek as they were shockingly knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid despite cruising the tie till the 90th minute of the second leg. Thus, Guardiola’s team surely would be hoping to bounce back and taking a 3-point advantage in the Premier League would do just that.

Newcastle United have been on top form since the turn of the year themselves though and will be hoping to have their say in that. Thus, this promises to be a brilliant game of football.

Amidst, all this, Manchester City have been warned that Newcastle United will go after them without fear. As reported by Chronicle Live, Dion Dublin said on BBC Football Daily Podcast:

"“Newcastle will go at them. I believe that Newcastle won’t fear them – there will be a lot of respect for them – but when Newcastle have the ball they will want to play quickly.“City will have their work cut out but in order to forget the game midweek they have to beat Newcastle, that’s the only way they can forget about that loss. Win the next game, the last game is irrelevant.”"

The majority of Manchester City fans would surely feel that the last game, against Real Madrid, will remain pretty relevant, whether they win, lose or tie against Newcastle United. It is the Champions League that they have been chasing for a long time without getting past the last few hurdles. This season was no different.

On the other hand, Newcastle United would be hoping to get a win and get back into the top half of the Premier League table once again. Thus, it goes without saying that the stakes are high in this game and it is a hard one to predict. Anything can happen in football, especially when both teams are in form.

If Newcastle United win, it would blow the Premier League title race wide open and Liverpool will be in the driver’s seat. If they lose, Manchester City would be the heavy favourites, after getting a three point advantage with three games to go.
